Welcome to the Penlee Lifeboat Station Website
Penlee Lifeboat Station is located in Newlyn Harbour, Cornwall. We have a very rich heritage as we are descendent from the first Lifeboat Station in Cornwall (Penzance Branch) and the thirteenth Lifeboat station in the UK. Our volunteer crew number approx. 25 with another 10 volunteer shore crew and our volunteer branch and fundraisers total in excess of 35.
We have 2 lifeboats at Penlee, an All Weather Severn Class, 'The Ivan Ellen', and an Inshore Atlantic 75, 'The Paul Alexander', both lifeboats were stationed in 2003.
We have limited space in our existing building and are currently appealing to raise funds to rebuild it with much more space for the circa 60 volunteers who would like to use it.
We do welcome visitors to our station, but please contact us if you are coming as part of a group to ensure we can accommodate you around our operational requirements. Individual visitors are most welcome to 'Drop in' and have a cup of tea!
We are soon to have our Inshore lifeboat 'Paul Alexander' replaced with an Atlantic 85 called 'Mollie and Ivor Dent'. Follow our news feeds for further information.
